Facts to remember

The barn in Kilgore was built by my grandfather David Hirsch Junior in 1933. They milked cows by hand until 1937 when grandpa bought a gas run milker. My dad David Junior Hirschi almost burnt the barn down when he went to start the milker and he filled it with gas and then pulled the crank and then took off the manifold cover to check to see if he had flooded it and it backfired and started the whole barn on fire. The cows were bellering and he had to use one of grandpa's fire extinguishers that takes the oxygen out of the air to put it out. He also had to turn the cows out of the barn for the same reason.

Miracles

Sometimes I consider life to be a miracle. How we are put together and how everything seems to run. Heavenly Father is a master of miracles. What is a miracle anyway? Something that we don't understand but that happens anyway? Pamela Lynn is a recepticle of miracles and let's face it she is indeed a miracle to us. Faith seems to help miracles to appear, and prayer helps our faith to grow. We have been able to witness the miracle in her life and that in itself is a miracle... Why is it that we are here at this time in this place to witness this event? Is it just haphazard that we are here and that the Lynn family moved into our ward? Is our meeting something by chance or were we given this opportunity to build our faith. Did Heavenly Father let us witness this miracle to help us grow? And look at the miracles that have preceded Pamela's miracle. The miracle of knowledge, of doctors and nurses and co workers. The miracle of a donor. Heavenly Father has given us miracles all around us and all we have to do is to exercise the faith of a Pamela Lynn. "Seek and ye shall find, ask and ye shall recieve, knock and the door shall be opened", but we have to take that first step. I pray that I will be able to have that faith that is required to receive miracles in my life.

Thankful

Today I am thankful for piano. Definately music, but today for piano. Some people are talented musically and can pick up playing the piano easily. For me it is a struggle! Thanks to Linda Mortensen she has been very patient with me and I am learning, but so many times the notes go from one hand to the other. I believe I am piano dislexic. But when I sit down and play a piece that I have been working on for a long time it is a good feeling, a great sense of accomplishment. No one will ever hear these pieces because I am too scared to play in public and will never play for church but I enjoy what I am able to do. Thank You Heavenly Father for this opportunity.

Fall Days

Sometimes I wonder why days are so hard. It is a beautiful fall day, the colors are gorgeous, especially when you drive down into the river bottoms. The yellows are so bright, the reds vibrant, and then you come up to Plano and it is drab and grey looking. That is not a bad thing because I like Plano, it is just that in comparison to the river bottoms it doesn't stack up. I think sometimes life is that way: things are so beautiful and then you find out that those vibrant things are not the real world, only something you pass through to encounter the drab grey of real life, and then you realize that there is a beauty in the drabness and grey, and it probably is the most stable part of life. Soon the bright and vibrant colors will fade away and the river bottom will become to look like Plano, and Plano will have stayed the same. So where do we place our belief, in the beauty of the river bottoms or in the stableness of Plano? NOTE: The picture was taken 2007 on the Snake River just below Beaver Dick Bridge on the float trip Brian and I took, thanks to Jeff Vail.
I am a very lucky person. Because of all the nieces and nephews that I have.Love You.

Fear

When I was a child I lived with my mom and dad in Kilgore,Idaho. We lived across the creek and field from my grandparents. Our yard was surrounded by a fence and Camas Creek ran through it. On the south end of the yard were two pinetrees and a path through a gate across a bridge and across a field and through another gate to grandma's house. Along the path from our gate to the bridge were willows, we played in these willows, but at times when I was sent to grandma's , those willows were full of monsters and they were after me from the time I stepped through our gate until I rushed through grandma's gate. I was safe if I got through the gate first, which I always did. The race began the minute I opened our gate and I would run as fast as I could to grandma's gate. As I got older those monsters diminished and I faced other monsters of life and I learned that Heavenly Father is greater then any of those monsters and with His help I have always gotten through the gate of life first.

Hey I'm Here!

Today I learned how to blog! And, I am excited! It has been a good day, it's sunny and beautiful. The fall colors are great, and I am excited about life! Tashina helped me, and she can do it a lot better than I can...
